At the Mad About Science ++ event held at The Shriram Millennium School, Noida, creative young minds brought science to life with exciting experiments and projects. Around 900 students — the youngest being in pre- nursery and the oldest in class nine — were seen demonstrating and explaining a various scientific concepts.

Mad About Science ++ was an initiative to involve children and parents together in a creative project right from the conceptualisation stage to the de- velopment and demonstration of the science projects. Students put up working models, art work, intricate experiments, games and quizzes in their respective stalls, while their happy parents were at hand for any help.

The science fair provided budding scientists an opportunity to put theoretical ideas into practice. Concepts such as genomes, DNA, aerospace technology, hydraulic force, ozone layer, weather and seasons, global warming, and environmental engineering were brought to life through simple but innovative projects. “Mad About Science ++ is an event meant to make science fun and relatable for the children. This helps to sow the seeds of curiosity, nurturing a child’s ability to wonder and ask questions,” says Uttara Singh, principal, The Shriram Millennium School.

Other activities at the event included a robotics and aerial show by the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic team, adventure sports and participation of various independent NGOs such as Greenpeace, SETU, Tender Hearts and Chintan.
