ES­TOCK MAR­KET IN­VEST­MENT AT EIFS

dge In­sti­tute of Fi­nan­cial Stud­ies ( EIFS) launches a brand new course to help ed­u­cate in­di­vid­u­als to man­age and grow their port­fo­lio in the stock mar­ket. The In­vest­ing in Stock Mar­ket course will also teach stu­dents about the fea­si­bil­ity, prof­its, rules and reg­u­la­tions of stock mar­ket in­vest­ments. Traders, in­vestors, beginners, fi­nance stu­dents or port­fo­lio man­agers will all ben­e­fit equally from this pro- gramme. Lec­tures will be de­liv­ered by Varun Mal­ho­tra who is an MBA in Fi­nance from In­dian In­sti­tute of Man­age­ment, Ahmed­abad and alumni of the Wash­ing­ton Univer­sity in St Louis, USA.

● Du­ra­tion The du­ra­tion of the course is 32 hours and the classes will be con­ducted on Sun­days.

● El­i­gi­bil­ity All can­di­dates with a strong in­ter­est in the stock mar­ket and a 10th stan­dard qual­i­fi­ca­tion are el­i­gi­ble to ap­ply for the pro­gramme.

EU POL­ICY AND REG­U­LA­TORY AF­FAIRS CLINIC AT NYU AND HEC PARIS

New York Univer­sity and HEC Paris an­nounce the first EU le­gal clinic ded­i­cated to Euro­pean pol­icy and reg­u­la­tory af­fairs. By team­ing up with selected NGOs and of­fer­ing pro-bono le­gal ad­vice, this ini­tia­tive will al­low selected stu­dents from NYU and HEC Paris to ex­pe­ri­ence the EU de­ci­sion-mak­ing process through pub­lic con­sul­ta­tions, ac­cess to documents and Euro­pean Cit­i­zens’ Ini­tia­tive, as well as through other el­e­ments of par­tic­i­pa­tory democ­racy. The goal is to chal­lenge and fur­ther the knowl­edge which the stu­dents have ac­cu­mu­lated in their Euro­pean stud­ies pro­grammes at their re­spec­tive uni­ver­si­ties.

Du­ra­tion Stu­dents will par­tic­i­pate in EU con­sul­ta­tions and draft sub­mis­sions on be­half of NGOs and civil so­ci­ety groups over the du­ra­tion of their de­grees

GAR­DEN­ING PRO­GRAMME AT MUM­BAI UNIVER­SITY

The cen­tre for ex­tra-mu­ral stud­ies of Univer­sity of Mum­bai has in­tro­duced three new cour­ses which in­clude an in­ten­sive gar­den­ing, nurs­ery and farm­house man­age­ment course in Marathi and a gar­den craft course for small and or­na­men­tal gar­dens. The cen­tre will also of­fer a unique course in or­na­men­tal aquar­ium fish keep­ing and breed­ing. The course will help stu­dents in set­ting up an aquar­ium, main­te­nance, choose aquatic flora and fresh­wa­ter or­na­men­tal fish, ma­rine aquar­ium set­ting and main­te­nance, pre­par­ing fish food and var­i­ous breed­ing tech­niques.

Du­ra­tion The cour­ses will be spread over a pe­riod of six months

El­i­gi­bil­ity There are no age or aca­demic qual­i­fi­ca­tions needed.

FOOD TECH­NOL­OGY AT LOVELY PRO­FES­SIONAL UNIVER­SITY

This unique course teaches stu­dents the ap­pli­ca­tion of food sci­ence in pro­cess­ing, man­u­fac­tur­ing, and preser­va­tion of food prod­ucts. Stu­dents also get the chance to study the chemical, phys­i­cal and mi­cro­bi­o­log­i­cal makeup of food and how it is pro­cessed, pre­served, pack­aged and stored. Grad­u­ates in food tech­nol­ogy or those who have done food pro­cess­ing cour­ses have vast scope in food pro­cess­ing in­dus­tries, re­search lab­o­ra­to­ries, ho­tels, soft drink fac­to­ries, qual­ity con­trol, rice mills, man­u­fac­tur­ing in­dus­tries, and dis­til­leries. Stu­dents can also go on to pur­sue jobs or fur­ther stud­ies in pack­ag­ing tech­nol­ogy, or­ganic chem­istry, bio­chem­istry and an­a­lyt­i­cal chem­istry.
