NEW LABELS ON OLD BOTTLES

India Today - - EAR TO THE GROUND -

It’s a valid argument. How can Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s freebies really be ‘free’ when, in fact, they are paid for with tax-payers’ money? Immediately sensitive to the emerging notion, the Tamil Nadu government altered its definitions: Vilaiyilla (priceless) is what they are calling Jaya’s free laptops and other sops these days. Even Amma Kudineer, the subsidised bottled mineral water sold for Rs 10, is back on shop shelves minus the Chief Minister’s beatific face on the label.
