REPEAT TROUBLE
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, 43, may have trouble in the Guna-Shivpuri constituency with BJP pitting its MLA Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya, 58, against him. Pawaiya, the second president of Bajrang Dal, lost Gwalior by a little over 20,000 votes in 1998. His competitor? The late Madhavrao Scindia. After that poll, Madhavrao shifted his constituency to Guna-Shivpuri, despite having defeated former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee from Gwalior by a margin of over 100,000 votes in 1984. Jyotiraditya has won Guna-Shivpuri constituency three consecutive times by a hefty margin after his father’s demise.
