Transform your Walls

It may be cloudy, overcast, humid and murky outside, but your décor can come as a breath of fresh air. One way to brighten the mood is through walls; and the quickest way to get your walls to shine is by using pretty wallpapers. Here are five things you have to bear in mind.

1 Before sticking wallpaper, ensure that Plaster of Paris and primer have been applied properly. This gives an excellent finish to the walls and also affects the application of the paper.

2 Opt for waterproof and washable wallpapers. They are manufactured with vinyl backing, can be washed and cleaned, and water droplets can be wiped off without affecting the paper.

3 Use a cloth or a soft cleaning brush to keep the walls clean. You can even use the vacuum on low pressure to pull out the dust particles.

4 Revamp your walls by giving it either a vintage feel by using old-fashioned yet chic designs or with floral designs, since nature and flowers on your walls are a perfect combination as raindrops pelt down your widows.

5 This is also a great time to add a touch of glamour with gold, silver, bronze and other metals mixed with fabric wallpapers.
