The seeds of social awareness sown by Gandhians among the district’s tribal people were further strengthened by an emphasis on girl child education. Around 29 secondary education schools have been established under the national secondary education mission in the past three years. The district also has two model schools for girls and four BEd colleges, besides nine non-engineering colleges.
