Maharashtra forest minister Sudhir Mungantiwar’s initiative to set up a vulture breeding centre near Nashik, keeping in mind their dwindling population, is already a success. The centre’s efforts have seen the great scavenger birds thrive, with numbers already up by 150. Now we hear Rajasthan has sent a request for 15 vultures from the centre to boost the bird’s numbers in the desert state.
