SUPREET CHEEMA

FASHION DESIGNER - REHMAT COLLECTION

-

Cheema, who has been designing costumes for music videos, films, and advertisements, feels that the summer of 2017 will be all about casual and breezy clothes.

Women

Believing that loose, long, flowy maxi dresses with geometric and tribal patterns are going to rule, this young designer opines that women should not be averse to trying this look at workplaces that do not have a strict formal dress code. “Also, khaki and army greens will be adopted by young women. When it comes to accessories, light silver jewellery will gel with the season. It makes a lot of sense to have different-coloured sneakers and semi-casual ones.”

Men

Men must go retro. Cheema feels that stripes are bound to rule as they not only make one look tall but also give a carefree look. “Avoid coloured t-shirts and instead go for bright round-necked ones with abstract prints. Sneakers, like last year, will be trusted by most. And yes, no jewellery please,” she says.

Trend Check

The designer says that when it comes to this state, people follow trends dictated by Punjabi singers. “From hairstyles to dresses, they want to follow them blindly. I have several clients who want to wear the kurta pajamas worn by singer Amrinder Gill.”

Client’s input

Cheema notices that over the years, customers have started taking more interest in the design process. “Earlier, they would leave everything to the designer. Now, most of them want to be involved at every stage.” Price Rs 15,000 onwards Contact supreetcheema22@gmail.com
