This stylist, who loves experimenting with colours says that shades of green besides those of pink, nudes (khaki, honey), yellow, rust will be in this season.

Women

With spring, floral is also knocking. From jumpsuits to playsuits, dresses to maxis, everything will be about playing with colours. “A lot of stripes can be expected. One shoulder split shirt tops and shirt dresses with graphic lines will be seen the most. Ruffles, puffed up sleeves, frills and bolder prints will be a big yay-yay. Casual will mean slogan t-shirts,” she says.

Narula feels that heels are on their way out and young women will be seen in flat forms. “Sneakers will not play second fiddle and continue to be extremely popular, thanks to their versatility. But, instead of whites, leopard prints, glitter, and satins will rule the game.”

Men

Stressing that Bomber jackets will be a craze this summer and patterns including wide stripes to square will continue to be popular, she says, “Tones of rust, yellows would be preferred, though men will be seen wearing very light shades of pinks. In accessories, caps, cowboy hats, backpacks will be carried forward.

Trend Alert

Though the trends in metros reflect heavily on states like Punjab, Narula feels that it would be unfair to say that they are followed here blindly. “Though metros are a major influence, but Punjabis prefer to adapt and modify them to suit their own fashion sensibilities,” she adds.

Client’s input

“I don’t force my choice on a client, but discuss the person’s look in its entirety while styling. It is more of collaboration. Moreover, with the kind of exposure given by the Internet and fashion magazines, clients come forward with a lot of suggestions,” she says. Price Rs 2,000 onwards
