OP Jindal Global University
Covered with a criss-cross iron framework and beautiful Buddha sculpture in the centre, OP Jindal Global University promises excellent infrastructure with quality education. Founded in 2009 as a non-profit global university, it has six schools offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in law, business, international affairs, government and public policy, liberal arts, humanities, journalism and communication. The university has inked collaborative agreements with Yale, Harvard, Indiana University, New York University, University of Michigan, Queen’s University and York University. “During the time I spent abroad studying and working, I had the opportunity to observe and experience leading higher education institutions in the US, Europe and East Asia. I was convinced that I wanted to work towards addressing issues in the Indian higher education system. When I moved to the City University, Hong Kong, in 2002, I saw that this little city in Asia has eight universities and four of them including the City University are in the Top 100 in the QS world university rankings. It was in Hong Kong that I finally wrote a paper on my ideas of building a global university,” says C Raj Kumar, Vice-chancellor.
