1997-2007

THIS DECADE WAS CHARACTERISED by a deeper understanding of Indian art and craft and a desire to revive India-inspired motifs and embroideries through detailing. What this meant was more collaborations, and reinventing, revisiting of old techniques. The Varma woman of this decade was all about finding herself and connecting with her heritage; much like an Indian princess living overseas gravitating towards her roots.
