Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS)
With an objective of creating of humane professionals who enable people to overcome poverty, deprivation and unemployment, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. Today, TISS offers multiple integrated and postgraduate courses in social sciences, humanities and research. One can opt for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in social work, human resources management, development studies, health administration, hospital administration, social epidemiology, and clinical psychology. “The courses offered by TISS are unique and highly relevant and in demand,” says S Parasuraman, Director, TISS. Besides these courses, TISS has regular training and capacity building programmes for government officials such as senior IAS, IPS and IFS officers, State Service Officers, Railway Service and Indian Forest Service Probationers.
