THE NEWEST GASTRO pub in Kolkata has a new menu full of familiar comfort food and citrusy white spirit based cocktails. At Monkey Bar, the newly introduced cocktails like The Trump Card and Absolut Lemon Drop use the mandarin and citron flavours of the popular vodka brand; the ginger cordial and mint in the former and lemon in the latter give it a tangy refreshing lift. Tuck into dishes that give old favourites a new twist. The dabeli is accompanied by a fig tamarind and garlic chutney while the mushroom galouti comes with a tamarind and date spread. Save some space for the devilled fish a light preparation with chilli oil, garlic, ginger, galangal and lemongrass.
