After police raids on Degree College in Pulwama, Kashmir, students across the valley demonstrated against police and paramilitary forces. Dozens of students sustained injuries in the violence as police used teargas, chilli smoke, water cannons and stun grenades to quell the protests. On April 25, militants shot dead Abdul Gani Dar, the Pulwama district president of the PDP, which governs Jammu and Kashmir with its ally, the BJP.
