BENGAL IN BRONZE

Eighty year old artist Lalu Prasad Shaw, considered among India’s top 20, is showcasing his first ever collection of sculptures titled Babu & Bibi. Working across mediums, Shaw has tested his artistic boundaries in different ways over his extensive 60-year career. Curated by Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya, this show includes bronze sculptures that are inspired by the Kalighat paintings. The works depict the traits of middle-class Bengali men and women of earlier times.
