After unremittingly grim news on the state for months, it will come as a relief to read the words ‘tense’ and ‘Kashmir’ in a story about bodybuilders. In Srinagar, oiled and pumped bodybuilders competed for the title of Mr Kashmir on May 13 in a tournament organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Bodybuilding Association, which drew 60 of the state’s top bodybuilders. Unsurprisingly, perhaps, indoor sports have caught on and gyms in particular have mushroomed across the tense Valley.
