For more than 10 years now, Chakresh Kumar, 34, has been organising summer workshops for children of different age groups, an experience he says he never gets tired of. “Enough has already been said about how theatre can improve concentration, focus, sense of discipline, give flight to imagination etc. But what really warms up my heart is the fun they have,” says the theatre director. With more than 5,000 students who can vouch for his training, Kumar doesn’t believe in following a set script with children. “They are asked to improvise on a basic skeleton. Everything is done by them. All I do is guide, and of course ensure that they don’t pull each other’s hair.” May 20 to June 20 Keep the Date Contact
