34, in­te­rior de­signer, maia de­sign, ban­ga­lore Shruti Jaipuria used to teach her­self de­sign soft­ware for fun. Her pas­sion for de­sign made her quit her job as a con­sul­tant and en­rol into the Par­sons School of De­sign, New York. “There was no look­ing back. I went on to train with Tony Chi & As­so­ciates in New York, lo­cal firms in Ban­ga­lore, and founded MAIA De­sign Stu­dio in 2011,” she says.

FACT FILE Over the years she has worked on sev­eral bars, pop­u­lar restau­rants and re­tail spa­ces such as The Black Rab­bit restau­rant and Nam­rata Jo­shipura bou­tique as well as high-end res­i­den­tial projects.

TRY THIS “I like one fo­cal point within a space and keep­ing ev­ery­thing else sim­ple,” says Jaipuria.
