offered a stout defence of Maj. Nitin Gogoi, who famously tied a Kashmiri man to the front of an army jeep to warn off stone-pelters from attacking his men. The army has awarded Gogoi a commendation certificate for his actions. An alleged stone pelter, the man, Farooq Dar, has maintained his innocence. His older brother called the award “cruel, not justice”.
