Union trans­port min­is­ter Nitin Gad­kari has claimed it was his 2.45 am call to party pres­i­dent Amit Shah that helped the BJP form a govern­ment in Goa. Gad­kari said he made the call af­ter the March 11 re­sults es­tab­lished a hung house, telling Shah that if Manohar Par­rikar was made chief min­is­ter, the party would win the sup­port of three Goa For­ward (GF) MLAs. The GF, though, has a dif­fer­ent take. GF leader Vi­jai Sarde­sai went to the BJP af­ter dis­cov­er­ing that the Congress planned to make his de­trac­tor Luiz­inho Faleiro CM.
