Founded in 1984 by Har­vard alum­nus and for­mer MP from Tamil Nadu, G Viswanathan, Vel­lore In­sti­tute of Tech­nol­ogy (VIT) has al­ready made its mark in pro­vid­ing qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion in the field of re­search, tech­nol­ogy and man­age­ment. “VIT has been to able to cre­ate a stu­dent-friendly learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment through its Fully Flex­i­ble Credit Sys­tem (FFCS) that al­lows stu­dents to tai­lor their own course timetable and choice of pro­fes­sors. Also, to im­bibe a sense of re­spon­si­bil­ity in its stu­dents, the in­sti­tute makes them or­gan­ise a job mela for non- VIT stu­dents and place them in ad­di­tion to its near 100 per cent place­ment for its own stu­dents,” says G Viswanathan.
