Nitish Kumar is clearly on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s list of favourite nonBJP chief ministers. Four days after the two met on May 27 to raise the “burning issue” of siltation in the Ganga, Union minister for water resources Uma Bharti came calling on Nitish in Patna on June 1. And a central team is visiting this week to examine the Ganga action plan. Nitish too is playing ball: before meeting the PM, he skipped a lunch hosted for Opposition leaders by Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
