It’s summer, and you’re look­ing for some­thing light to read? How about a thriller that isn’t a big doorstop of a book? If so, you could look at some pulp mag­a­zines. Ini­tially an Amer­i­can phe­nom­e­non, they used sto­ries set in for­eign lo­cales like In­dia, Africa and South Amer­ica—in­form­ing and en­ter­tain­ing read­ers at the same time. There was even an In­dian au­thor— Prince Sarath Ghosh—who told jun­gle sto­ries set in In­dia.
