Five Point Plan for your Home

Gupta on five design diktats you should follow

-

Mix and match Not mixing and matching such a wrong old notion. Mixing prints and colours makes a space visually interesting and adds texture and depth.

Revive the old for a new look Throwing away old pieces would make interior design a bore. Mixing the old with the new is the fun part of the entire process and the result creates a space with character and personality.

Use colours flamboyantly White walls are a go-to when it comes to small spaces but bright tones, dark wall colours and bold patterns can add certain depth to a space.

Don’t follow current trends Contrast is a key element in making a space unique and full of character. No matter what the current design trends are, focus on what narrates your story best. Your space needs to echo your ideas and imagination.

Learn to experiment Many feel that if there are certain design definitions they must stick to it and not swing away from them. I say go ahead and experiment that’s what design and setting trends is all about. Don’t care about matching shades and keeping it monochromatic; create spaces with contrasting elements that fit together.
