Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi may not have much to say to party leaders, but it doesn’t excuse his being glued to his smartphone while on a recent tour to flood-hit Assam. He was on his phone throughout the 40-minute drive from Silchar airport to the funeral of former Union minister Santosh Mohan Deb and even ignored supporters lined along the road. Assam Congress chief and Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora and CLP head Debabrata Saikia got the same treatment when they accompanied Rahul on his return.
