A EUROPEAN AFFAIR

- By Anmol Gupta

Aventure by architects, innovators and culinary experts, the newly opened European lounge and brewery—Barcode-IXC takes its inspiration from Barcelona and aims at revamping the concept of socialising.

Boasting a bespoke bar, the lounge has an avant-garde feel; a classic combination of contemporary and modern styles. Spread over 10,500 sq ft, it has a spacious open rooftop area that is perfect for a winter evening.

At Barcode, the architecture is not the only highlight, for the food is equally promising. Chef Aditya Prabhu’s menu is the perfect blend of global and regional flavours. The wellbalanced seasonal menu has been conceptualised in accordance with the people, the weather and the city’s mood. With aperitifs, tapas, small bites and a detailed main course menu, the restaurant is a gastronomical delight.

WE RECOMMEND Cheunf faan (steam rice rolls), chicken rice perals (chicken dumplings with Thai rice), cheese pakchoy dumplings (steamed dimsum with onion rings), chupa rustum (delicately spiced vegetables marinated with cheese), kumbh palak, cajun spiced fish tikka, pesto paneer tikka, banjara kebab and Kashmiri speciality Rista (meat balls cooked over slow fire with robust spices).

Don’t miss the quinoa salad, roast chicken salad, French onion soup and Moroccan meal ball soup. BarcodeIXC will also be introducing a chain of gourmet lounges that will be serving molecular mixology based cocktails. For desserts, try the mango panacota and angoori rabdi.
