As a part of traditional wedding trousseaus, jadau jewellery has always been top choice, but over the years, the traditional pieces have undergone change and are more in step with the times. Today, a combination of uncut diamonds, precious stones, unique motifs and jadau are the perfect fit for a bride. Here are five wedding jewellery trends.

Peacock- inspired pieces are in

Jewellery that draws inspiration from the national bird known for its grace and beauty is getting very popular. The eternal beauty of the bird is captured and portayed in pieces by many jewellery houses and elements of gold, precious gemstones and fine Basra pearls are finding mention. You are seeing the bird motif in bridal necklaces, jhumkas and chokers which are sure to add charm to every bride’s trousseau.

Contemporary filigree necklaces

These are modern yet rooted in traditional designs. The haar can be paired not only with Indian attire such as sarees and anarkalis but also with contemporary outfits such as palazzos or dhoti pants.

Bridal naths

Naths or nose pieces are high on the trend radar amongst brides these days. They are found in various shapes including round and paisley and are seen in a snug fit that clasps the nose, or large hoops along with a chain that extends till the back of the ear. I prefer designing them in 22 carat gold, with a signature touch of Basra pearls and polki, making sure that the nath highlights the face of the bride. Smaller naths are preferably worn over anarkalis or sari gowns for functions like mehendi or sangeet.

Patri haar

It features the richness of gold alongside vintage uncut jadau pieces and intricately carved Indian floral motifs. Inspired by the karigari of the Mughal era, the patri haar is a treasured family heirloom that is timeless in its appeal. It’s the kind of jewellery piece a bride should own.

Uncut diamond

Chokers are a must in every bride’s trousseau. This statement piece elevates any look and adds a splash of tradition to the outfit. We have an array of classic uncut diamond chokers with emerald and ruby gemstones; each piece accented artistically. Rare Basras being my trademark are strung together, which boosts the craftsmanship and accentuates the beauty of these pieces.
