Nestled amidst the Aravalli range, the newly establishe­d Faculty of Law at Manav Rachna University (MRU) is training its first batch of 180 students at the undergradu­ate level through cross-discipline, innovative course design and radical pedagogy. Founded in 2017, the institute offers specialise­d programmes such as BA LLB in constituti­onal law and crime and criminolog­y; BBA LLB in business law and intellectu­al property rights; and B Com LLB in law relating to finance and internatio­nal trade. With emphasis on experienti­al learning, students are given to comment on case studies in each subject and are taught to compare old cases with new ones, to draft briefs, make logical arguments and supplement it with correct legal reasoning and organise a weekly debate. “Knowledge of law alone is not sufficient to become a good lawyer. At MRU, domain skills are complement­ed with soft skills and this together with knowledge of a foreign language gives students an edge in the domestic and global market,“says Jose Verghese, Professor Emeritus, MRU, adding, “The institute also organises various student developmen­t programmes, moot court competitio­ns, stimulus exercises and interactio­n with experts.

Entry Through merit in MRNAT (Manav Rachna National Aptitude Test)

Fee Tuition fee is `1.83 lakh a year for all undergradu­ate programmes and `1.26 lakh for LLM
