1. RITU KUMAR
A Padma Sri recipient, Ritu Kumar started her journey in the 1960’s as a student of art history from Lady Irwin College. Over the years, the designer, who completed 50 years in the industry last year, has created globally-relevant designs through her eponymous label Ritu Kumar, which highlights and celebrates India’s textile legacy.
2. SONAL HOLLAND
She is India’s first and only Master of Wine. An awardwinning broadcaster, Sonal Holland is a TEDx speaker and a sought-after international commentator with diversified entrepreneurial ventures in wine education, consultancy, events and specialist retail stores.
3. K.H. RADHARAMAN
Radharaman Hari Kothandaraman is the Founder, CEO and Principal Designer of The House of Angadi, Creative Director of the design label Advaya, and recently launched international luxury ready-to-wear label, Alamelu.
4. RAHUL MISHRA
The first Indian designer to showcase at the Paris Haute Couture Week and the first Indian to win the International Woolmark Prize (in 2014), Rahul Mishra champions slow fashion with traditional Indian textiles.
5. SUNITA SHEKHAWAT
Popularly labelled as the ‘Modern Meenakaar’, Sunita Shekhawat specialises in Kundan-Meena-Jadau jewellery, reinterpreting this classic and ancient craft in unconventional ways.
6. SANJAY GARG
Textile Designer and founder of Raw Mango,Sanjay Garg grew up in the village of Mubarikpur, Rajasthan. Raw Mango was born to re-imagine Indian fashion and design without preconceived notions. Colours and designs from Raw Mango find their roots in Indian philosophy and traditions.
7. AMIT AGGARWAL
Amit Aggarwal’s ideas about form and structure took shape growing up in a family of engineers and scientists, which is evident in his design ideology today. He started his own eponymous label, Amit Aggarwal in 2012, which employs 200 people currently.
8. KHAYL REIS
He is co-founder and CEO of Luxury Skin Care brand Glutaweis, and is passionate about solutions for healthy and radiant skin created out of master antioxidant Glutathione.
9. SOPHIE FURLEY
A British-born journalist and editor for over 15 years, Sophie specialises in watches, Jewellery, travel, chocolate and sustainability. She is based in Switzerland and contributes to numerous print and online publications around the world.
