TRIED AND TESTED
Our review of the latest tech toys for your home
Cooking is one of the strongest ceremonies for life according to Mexican novelist and screenwriter, Laura Esquivel. Well said as life happens in the kitchen where food is prepared and partaken. Ask any seasoned chef as what goes into making a finger-licking meal and undoubtedly ingredients and tools get shortlisted. In order to be good at cooking, you need to have the rights tools in the kitchen; the most basic and key being the mixer grinder. So, here’s the first-hand experience of a newly launched mixer grinder—Miracle Diva by Orient Electric.
First Impression
Looks do matter and this machine scores well in that department. The delicate and feminine lilac-hued 750 W motor and jars with burgundy lids make the mixer grinder different and unique. The appliance has three steel and two storage jars of different capacities and functions; a 1.5 litre liquidising jar, a 1 litre dry and wet grinding jar, a 0.5 litre chutney jar, and two 0.4 litre storage jars, and a spatula. Both liquidising and dry and wet grinding jars come with sturdy handles and lockable lids that make them easy to use.
Smart and Functional
The gadget is not only good to look at but also smooth to operate. With a 35-minute grinding power powerful motor and no heating and advanced heating dissipation mechanism, it ensures that every day grinding and mixing of ingredients is fast and hassle-free. If the liquidising jar with its multipurpose grinding blade helps you whisk and whip that shake or smoothie for breakfast in no time then the dry and wet grinding jar with its nickel-coated steel blades ensures that you can quickly grind an idli and dosa batter for a delicious lunch. The small chutney jar with its powerful chutney blade, on the other hand, takes care of every day grinding of ingredients of your spices and condiments such as coriander, cumin, mustard, and black pepper.
A thing to note here is that the machine is power-packed with features but there can be some improvement when it comes to lid locks and the weight of the motor.
