A VISUAL FEAST

This home in Mumbai has just the right mix of colour, craft, charisma and clever spatial planning

- By ALI BALDIWALA

Ahigh-rise space that is aglow by Mumbai city’s skylights, the quintessential geometry-centric residence is high in design and comfort. Befitted for both form and purpose, the unique space works both aesthetically and utility wise. Case in point: from a design point of view, all rooms not only offer views of the never-ending skyline but the interiors flow in angular patterns from room to room, combining beauty with functionality. The Elemental Sky House is spread over 3,100 sq ft with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a kitchen, study, living, dining and terrace. LIVING SPACES

A balance of yin and yang, black marquina and statuario white marble inlay in a chevron pattern welcomes the eye to the living cum dining area and reveals the house gradually. Viewed from the passageway, the brass base dining appears at first glance to be adding an ornamental element to the room. Complete with a copper panelled backdrop, finished in patina, maximising the grand entrance. The dominating piece agglomerates the personality of the house. The art by Vinay Mehta and Kapil Kamble adds the right amount of hues in the space. The living walls in grey floriana marble right to the top create a grand luxe feeling. The ceiling is designed in pop and blanc gloss barrisol, which reflects the floor on to the ceiling. Ball chandelier by Klove Studio completes the look of this formal living adding right amount of luxury and style.
