On Duty BDO Dies Of Heart Attack In Gurez, DC Expresses Shock

BANDIPORA: A Block Developmen­t Officer posted in Tulail area of Gurez in northern Kashmir's Bandipora district died of a massive cardiac arrest Friday afternoon.

An official said that the Block Developmen­t Officer was on duty.

“The BDO was immediatel­y shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.”

The deceased official was identified as Abdul Saleem Darzi, a resident of southern Kashmir's Anantnag.

Deputy Commission­er Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad expressed shock over the sudden demise of Block Developmen­t Officer Tulail, Abdul Salem Darzi while on duty.

A condolence meeting was held at DC Office Bandipora under the chairmansh­ip of DC Bandipora and was attended by all district officers.

Dr Owais expressed heartfelt condolence­s over the sad demise of the officer and recalled him as an upright and dedicated officer who performed his duties religiousl­y even in remotest hamlet of the district.

“We express our heartfelt condolence­s to the family of our esteemed colleague who passed away in line of duty. His sudden death has come as shock to all of us,” he said.

He said the district administra­tion is making arrangemen­ts for airlifting the body of the deceased officers through a special air sortie as and when the weather permits.
