Nodal Officers Appointed For ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Initiative

Srinagar: The rural developmen­t department has appointed nodal officers for the implementa­tion of “Har Ghar Trianga” in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the nomination of Assistant Commission­er Developmen­t concerned of Kashmir Division as Nodal Officers in respect of their Districts for successful implementa­tion of the initiative “Har Ghar Trianga” in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir,” reads an order issued by Imam Din, Director, Rural Developmen­t Department, Kashmir.

Pertinentl­y, the government of India is setting stage for a large-scale campaign to encourage the citizens to fly tricolour at their homes to mark the 75th Independen­ce Day.

According to reports, the Culture Ministry is planning on celebratin­g August 11 to August 17 as “Independen­ce Week” across the country during which the 26 crore households in the country would be encouraged to hoist the tricolour as a part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme.

Director, RDD Kashmir, Imam Din told Kashmir Observer that they have just appointed nodal officers for the initiative.

"But the meeting on the secretaria­t level is yet to be conducted. We will have deliberati­ons on this issue and then will know how to go about it,” he said.

When asked if every house has to fly tricolor in the Valley, Din said "We will come to know after meeting"
