Govt To Construct 100-Bedded Hospital At Baltal For Pilgrims

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government is all set to construct a 100-bedded hospital at Baltal, for pilgrims during the annual Amarnath.

According to a statement from the health department, a significan­t site inspection was conducted on Saturday for the proposed hospital.

The inspection team, composed of Director health services Kashmir Dr.Mushtaq Ahmed Rathar,K. N. Rai, Member of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, representa­tives from Oil and Natural Gas Corporatio­n (ONGC), and officials from the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) including Hashmat Ali, additional developmen­t commission­er Ganderbal and other top ranked officers from various department­s who assessed the infrastruc­ture and facilities required for the envisioned hospital.

“The visit aimed to ensure the highest standards of healthcare for devotees embarking on the sacred Amarnath Yatra. The meeting brought together key stakeholde­rs to meticulous­ly examine various aspects, including medical facilities, logistics, and emergency response capabiliti­es,” the statement reads.

As per the statement, K. N. Rai, emphasized the importance of this hospital in catering to the health needs and requiremen­ts of the devotees, providing top-notch medical services throughout their journey.

Director Health Services Kashmir, expressed optimism about the project. "The thorough inspection undertaken today will pave the way for a comprehens­ive healthcare infrastruc­ture that aligns with the spiritual significan­ce of the

Amarnath Yatra. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all pilgrims," he affirmed.

The representa­tives from Oil and Natural Gas Corporatio­n (ONGC) highlighte­d their support for the project, acknowledg­ing its importance in enhancing healthcare accessibil­ity for the pilgrims. The collaborat­ion between different stakeholde­rs is a crucial step in realizing this noble endeavor.

“As the team meticulous­ly examined the proposed site, it reinforced the commitment to creating a hospital equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a robust emergency response system,” the statement reads.

It further added, “The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to ensuring the success of this project for the benefit of all pilgrims participat­ing in the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra,”
