DC Inspects Progress Of Construction On Migrant Transit Accommodation

Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal MohiUd-Din Bhat Tuesday undertook a visit to Zewan area of District to oversee the progress of ongoing works being executed on construction of Migrant Transit Accommodation for PM Package employees.

During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer R&B, Executive Engineer PDD, Executive Engineer PHE, Tehsildar Panthachowk, Nodal Officer and other concerned.

The Deputy Commissioner took a round of the various under construction Blocks of the Migrant Transit Accommodations. He was apprised that the work on the project for construction of 39 blocks comprising 936 flats is going on in full swing and as on date an amount of Rs 67 crore has been expended against the allotted cost of Rs 112.34 crore.

While reviewing the present status of the project, the DC was informed that over 70 percent targets under the project have been achieved with completion of civil works on 26 blocks comprising 624 flats.

The DC was further informed that 10 Blocks of Migrant Transit Accommodation for PM Package employees shall be completed by March 2024.

With regard to providing drinking water facilities at the Transit Camp, the DC was informed that over 60 % works have been completed on the construction of 50,000 Gallons RCC Sump and Operators quarter at a cost of Rs 32.24 lakh. While 85 % works on Construction of 100000 Gallons dome type RCC service reservoir has been completed for which Rs 35.04 lakh have been earmarked.
