MVD B'la Enhances Driver Safety With Eye Checkup

BARAMULLA: As part of Road Safety Month, 2024 and the ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and prioritize driver well-being, Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Baramulla on wednesday organized an eye checkup and first aid training session for the driver community at the Sumo Stand, Baramulla.

Recognizin­g the importance of ensuring drivers are both physically fit and equipped with essential skills to handle emergencie­s on the road, MVD Baramulla collaborat­ed with the health department to conduct the eye checkup and first aid training session.

The event aimed to address two critical aspects of driver safety: visual health and emergency response.

The eye checkup provided drivers with the opportunit­y to assess their vision and address any potential issues that could impact their ability to operate vehicles safely.

Additional­ly, the first aid training equipped drivers with essential knowledge and skills to respond effectivel­y to emergencie­s, thereby enhancing overall road safety.

On the occasion, Assistant Regional Transport officer (ARTO) Muazzam Ali said that promoting driver safety is a top priority for us, and initiative­s like the eye checkup and first aid training are integral to achieving this goal.

By addressing both physical health and emergency preparedne­ss, our aim is to create safer roads and reduce the risk of accidents, he added.

The event received positive feedback from the driver community, with participan­ts expressing appreciati­on for the opportunit­y to prioritize their health and safety.
