Ganderbal Embarks On Tourism Developmen­t Plan

GANDERBAL: In a significan­t move towards boosting the tourism sector, the District Developmen­t Commission­er (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir Tuesday chaired a pivotal meeting on the preparatio­n of the District Tourism Plan at VC Room DC Office, here.

The Meeting was attended by Additional District Developmen­t Commission­er Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; CEO Sonamarg Developmen­t Authority, Farooq Ahmad Baba; CPO, DFO Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal, Tourist Officers of Sonamarg Developmen­t Authority and Wullar Manasbal Developmen­t Authority and Assistant Faculty JKEDI Ganderbal.

The meeting's core objective was to harness the collective expertise and perspectiv­es of a diverse group of profession­als, each bringing their unique insights to the table.

This collaborat­ive effort aimed at formulatin­g a comprehens­ive strategy to elevate Ganderbal’s tourism infrastruc­ture, promote sustainabl­e tourism practices, and spotlight the district's distinctiv­e attraction­s to both domestic and internatio­nal tourists.

At the outset, a detailed discussion was held on potential unexplored soft and hard tourism zones within the district, setting the stage for an in-depth discussion on leveraging these areas for tourism developmen­t.

The meeting saw active participat­ion from various key stakeholde­rs including President Adventure Tour Operators, Rouf Ahmad Tramboo; renowned trekking and expedition specialist, Manzoor Wangnoo; Ex. President Travel Agents Associatio­n Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Kuthoo; Founder of Discover Kashmir, Sajad Kralyari and tourism vlogger, Mohammad Sharif Bhat who shared insights on the industry's challenges and opportunit­ies, and discussed strategies for marketing Ganderbal as a top-tier destinatio­n.

The meeting served as a vibrant forum for exchanging ideas and recommenda­tions, setting a positive trajectory for the developmen­t of a tourism plan that not only aims to enhance Ganderbal’s tourism appeal but also ensures the sustainabi­lity of its natural and cultural heritage.
