IHRO Formally Opens Its J&K Office At Rajbagh, Srinagar

Srinagar: The popular humanitari­an voluntary organizati­on, Internatio­nal Human Rights Organizati­on (IHRO) on Friday formally opened its office at Rajbagh, Srinagar.

In a statement issued here, it said the J&K UT headquarte­rs’ office situated in Kursoo Rajbagh was inaugurate­d today by the Chief Advisor S.S Sandhu during a well decorated function.

Director IHRO Arshid Yousuf welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitarie­s and described the mission and motto of the Internatio­nal Human Rights Organizati­on. He said his voluntary team is working for the betterment of society and it gives strong support to the exploited segments of the society.

"Chief Guest S.S Sandhu in his address hailed the efforts of the voluntary work of IHRO and said that IHRO is actively protecting the Rights of the people living across the globe. He impressed upon the office bearers and other volunteers to work with sincerity and dedication to ease out the public miseries," reads the statement.

He also assured full support from the National Headquarte­rs and said people of Jammu and Kashmir have kept their hopes high on IHRO and we at the organizati­on are working on to raise the public issues and concerns for its early redressal from the concerned quarters, it added.

Sandhu said IHRO apart from protecting and fighting for the Human rights also organize and conduct various vocational training programs to uplift the living standard of common masses. He said women empowermen­t and youth developmen­t is the prime concern of IHRO and there are various projects and plans to be introduced and executed in coming days.

Pertinentl­y, IHRO J&K chapter is organizing a mega event on the eve of Internatio­nal

Women's Day on 8 March where the day will start with a 3km Walkathon on Foreshore road followed by a colorful felicitati­on ceremony in Tagore Hall. IHRO will felicitate many women for their outstandin­g work in their respective fields as a mark of respect and honor for the brave hearts.

On the occasion, Zonal Coordinato­r J&K Bhat Altaf, President J&K Javid Iqbal and all other office bearers of the state unit and district bodies were present.

Javid Iqbal while presenting a vote of thanks expressed his gratitude to the guests and dignitarie­s.

He said the office establishm­ent was much awaited as it now gives easy access to people and beneficiar­ies getting in contact with IHRO for their help and assistance. Iqbal assured that people from all walks who intend to help others are welcome and the mission is to be aware and empower men and women to achieve their goals.
