Director JKEDI E-Inaugurate­s Three EDPs Under SANKALP At Ramban

Urges aspirants to take entreprene­urship as career

JAMMU: Director, Jammu and Kashmir Entreprene­urship Developmen­t Institute (JKEDI), Rajinder Kumar Sharma Thursday e-inaugurate­d three Entreprene­urship Developmen­t Programs (EDPs) under Skills Acquisitio­n and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) for aspiring entreprene­urs of Ramban.

The five day EDPs are being conducted at Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Banihal, Ramban and Government Higher Secondary School, Batote in which 120 aspirants were enrolled.

The trainees include entreprene­urs who have started their business ventures as well as aspiring entreprene­urs who intend to become self reliant under different government sponsored schemes.

While interactin­g with the trainees, Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma urged them to choose entreprene­urship and self employment avenues to reduce dependency on government jobs. He directed the JKEDI district officers to facilitate training programs for prospectiv­e entreprene­urs in a profession­al manner and make it interactiv­e so that the aspirants are motivated to take up entreprene­urship as their career option. He also urged the course team to brief the participan­ts about the different facets of J&K Startup Policy 2024-27 so that they are able to avail its benefits in future.

On the occasion, Henna Latief, who runs and owns a food processing unit “Bahi Foods” at Banihal shared her experience as an entreprene­ur. She remarked that she has been able to establish her dream business unit which is providing employment to many people despite several challenges.

Another entreprene­ur, Lalita Devi from Batote who runs a mushroom cultivatio­n unit said that she is happy to be part of SANKALP training program and hopes that it will help her to realise her dream of becoming a “Lakhpati Didi”.

Pertinentl­y, during the five day EDP, the participan­ts will be apprised about basic business concepts like business plan formulatio­n, marketing plans, accounts management and other topics of relevance, so that they can successful­ly run their businesses. The participan­ts have already received sector-specific short-term technical training in their chosen businesses, and will now benefit from JKEDI’s specially curated training modules.
