NEW DELHI: Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway, held a review meeting with department­al heads of Northern Railway and DRMs.

According to a statement, deliberati­ons were held on keeping focus on passenger amenities at stations for the upcoming Holi festival.

“In this review meeting, he emphasized on convenient movement of railway passengers at stations and proper management of other facilities for passengers, clearance of additional rush of passengers during the upcoming Holi festival,” the statement reads.

GM, as per the statement, also reviews the arrangemen­t of cleanlines­s, proper supply of drinking water at platforms. He emphasized the timely completion of work related to the provision of 2nd entry, foot over bridges, provisions of Escalators, lift facilities and other passenger amenities.

Apart from performanc­e review the GM also presented Safety Awards to 4 vigilant employees for their contributi­on towards maintainin­g high standards for safety and security of passengers and railway property. He presented awards to the staff deputed in operation/RPF for outstandin­g work in maintainin­g the highest safety standard.

He also reiterates that safety is the prime concern over Northern Railway. He reviewed the work done over the zone in improving the maintenanc­e standard of track, welds and removal of scrap lying near the tracks.

He instructed the divisions to intensify the drives to enhance the safety on tracks for safely running of trains and counsel the staff whenever necessary and required. He said the monitoring of signals, rail fractures and rail welds should be done extensivel­y and no error should be left.
