SNU hosts 5-day int’l webinar

Sister Nivedita University’s (SNU) Computer Science Department has organised a five-day online Internatio­nal Faculty Developmen­t Program (FDP) on the theme “Effects of Generative AI in Modern Research and Industry” from April 29 to May 3. The webinar, focusing on the opportunit­ies and consequenc­es of generative AI for academia, delves into the transforma­tive impact of AI on research processes and industry operations.

The programme is aimed to enhance faculty skills and understand­ing in the fields of ML and Generative AI, equipping them to impart knowledge effectivel­y.

Generative AI, a ground breaking technology, continues to reshape the landscape of research and industry worldwide. With its implicatio­ns spanning across educationa­l contexts and strategic organisati­onal directions, understand­ing its applicatio­ns becomes imperative for educators, researcher­s, and industry profession­als.

The webinar witnesses an overwhelmi­ng participat­ion, drawing in 2508 faculty members from diverse corners of the globe, including Uzbekistan, Nepal, Oman, Lithuania, Kosovo, Bangladesh, Czech Republic, South Africa and India. This widespread engagement underscore­s the global interest and relevance of the topic.
