PM Modi-led BJP govt sheltering rapists: TMC

Referring to the “sex scandal” involving the JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday alleged that the Narendra Modi-led BJP government is “sheltering rapists”.

On Monday, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose wrote on X: “Astounding & chilling. 100s of women from domestic help to party workers raped, molested, assaulted and sexually attacked, captured in 1000s of tapes filmed by@BJP4India’s alliance party JDS Hassan MP #PrajwalRevanna. Where is Shri@narendramodi and @ JPNaddaji?? NCW? @sharmarekha? Where is mainstream media outrage? Will@BJP4India speak for “Nari Shakti”? ITNA SANNATA KYON?? Another Rajya Sabha MP of the party, Jawhar Sircar wrote: “BJP warned about Prajwal Revanna’s sex mania videos

months ago, but he still got the Hassan ticket.

Modi’s spies keep track of every political person, media person, official and businessman of consequence! Why then did he encourage this sex rogue?”

Susmita Dev, TMC Rajya Sabha MP said: “National media has revealed that former BJP candidate Devraj Gowda said he brought the entire “sex scandal” to the notice of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and

Prime Minister Narendra Modi but no attention was paid. BJP which makes women security a big issue in Bengal and rest of the country should hang their heads in shame.

The kind of sexual abuse that this Revanna MP has unfolded is out there in the videos to see. The BJP is very much a part of it. The BJP condoned it by giving him a ticket and BJP’s blatant hypocrisy on gender justice and respect for women is in tatters.”
