RWAS, banks in Noida install alert systems to curb crimes
NOIDA: After the controversial statement by the Noida City Administration earlier that RWAS should be held responsible if any theft, snatching cases and untoward incident happen inside the sectors, various city RWAS and banks have started installing technical alert censored devices using voice communication devices which will be installed with CCTV cameras inside the ATM booths, to prevent crimes in residential sectors of the city.
An office bearer of the company supplying the devices has said a spurt in the crime cases has been seen in the city especially cyber crimes. After the voice communication devices will be installed, if someone wrongfully touches and tries to loot or break the ATM booth locker, voice | messages will be sent to the company’s head office and Police Control Room with its pictures and within minutes, the local police or PCR vans will reach the spot.
“It’s a good initiative to curb crimes with technically strong devices which will help police to be more alert simultaneously. RWAS also can curb crimes in sectors by becoming the ears and eyes of police. CCTV cameras play a major role in curbing crimes,” said a senior police official. The residents appreciated this initiative and said that earlier there were unknown and outsiders entries in the sectors but with the help of these devices, robberies and criminals will be prevented easily.
City Magistrate Bacchu Singh, however, said that the RWAS should improve security of their respective sectors in a way to prevent thefts, snatching and other crimes. “We had suggested them to install better quality cameras at entry and exit gates, ensure that security guards are checking and registering every person, vehicle and vendor details entering sectors, only the vehicles having valid stickers of the concern RWAS should only be allowed to enter and exit from gates, visitors should be given prior passes etc. Some easy steps can prevent crimes which I had suggested by issuing an advisory,” he said.
