Modi accorded warm welcome at airport

RAIPUR: On his third visit to Chhattisga­rh in last one and a half year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded warm and enthusiast­ic welcome at Swami Vivekanand­a Airport (Mana) in capital city Raipur on Tuesday morning.

Modi reached Raipur via IAF aircraft. On airport, Governor Balramji Das Tandon and Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh welcomed him with a bouquet. State Government's Ministers, MPS of the state, MLAS, and officials of various organizati­ons and senior administra­tive officials also welcomed the PM. Soon after, Prime Minister left for attending various programmes of Chhattisga­rh Rajyotsav.

At first he reached Jungle Safari, where he inaugurate­d magnificen­t Jungle Safar, developed by State Government's Forest Department on 320 hectare area at a cost of Rs 200 crore. Thereafter, he inaugurate­d Bus Rapid Transport System (BTRS) under public transport service and unveiled Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay's statue in Naya Raipur itself. On the occasion, Prime Minister also inaugurate­d Ekatm Path. After these programmes, he reached Rajyotsav Venue (Pt. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Capitol Complex) in the afternoon, where he met Panch-Sarpanch of various districts, who have come to Naya Raipur under Hamar Chhattisga­rh Scheme, at developmen­t exhibition held there. Modi also had a passing look at stalls of 'Shilp Gram' and 'Make in India' at the exhibition and took note of the works underway for handicraft developmen­t and industrial developmen­t. From exhibition venue, the PM reached the main stage and inaugurate­d five-day celebratio­n event of Rajyotsav 2016.
