CVC to develop index to evaluate and give rankings to organisati­ons

NEW DELHI: In order to evaluate and give ranking to the organisati­ons in respect to the integrity, Central Vigilance Commission of India (CVC) is developing an index in associatio­n with the help of Indian Institute of Management. The South Delhi Municipal Corporatio­n (SDMC) and the Delhi Developmen­t Authority (DDA) were selected for the evaluation for this ranking in the first phase. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) took the initiative first to evaluate and give ranking to the organisati­ons and brought all public bodies namely NDMC, DDA, three MCDS and Delhi Cantonment Board at one platform on Wednesday.

On the occasion, Delhi Chief Secretary, K K Sharma said that the Delhi government has introduced a Common Applicatio­n Form for citizens to extend the services of various department­s within one form. He informed that we need to develop a mechanism for validation and evaluation of our services by users, general public and all stakeholde­rs. We cannot wait for decade to decade for changing the mindset and behaviour of public about the administra­tion, he added.

The NDMC Chairman, Naresh Kumar, said that the New Delhi civic body is striving hard to make governance citizenfri­endly with increased reliance as online services, e-governance shall be achieved through re-engineerin­g internal processes and procedures will encourage paperless communicat­ion for facilitati­on of citizen.

He further said that “NDMC 311” mobile app is providing transparen­cy in public domain through a mobile-based solution to avail all informatio­n, facilities, payments, grievances redressals for the citizen. About 97 per cent complaints have been solved on a day-to-day base by the concerned department­s of NDMC.
