NDMC seeks public views for preparing Budget

NEW DELHI: Following the footsteps of the Aap-led Delhi government, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has announced to seek public suggestion­s for the Budget preparatio­ns.

The Council has said that it will invite public ideas and suggestion­s at various levels so it could prepare a peoplefrie­ndly Budget and the social sites, smart phones RWAS and other means will be roped in.

“The Council is serving citizens as well as visitors of New Delhi area through various programmes and services in a transparen­t way and it has initiated a new programme of preparing a people-friendly Budget on the basis of suggestion of citizens of Delhi.

Under the plan, suggestion, views and complaints will be invited through social sites and mobile app,” said Chanchal Yadav, Secretary NDMC.

Talking about the procedures of receiving suggestion, ideas, etc, the Council Secretary said that the participan­ts can click ‘suggestion’ on the NDMC website where the entire area of operation has been categorise­d in as many as 21 segments.

The person can choose area of interest and can make suggestion­s. Once completed, it will be visible for all other visitors too. The important part is that any one can vote in favour or disfavour of any of the suggestion­s posted by people as it will help the Council to know the gravity of the matter. To protect interests of the participan­ts, their identity will not be revealed,” she added.
