Indian Oil’s first Grass Root Smart Retail Outlet in Kolkata

KOLKATA: Indian Oil Corporatio­n (IOC) Ltd has decided to develop a Grass Root Smart Retail Outlet in Newtown, Kolkata in Action Area - III, which will be the first of its kind in India.

Foundation stone laying function for the Grass Root Smart Retail Outlet was held on Tuesday. A large gathering of officials, channel partners and distinguis­hed guests were on the occasion.

Indian Oil Corporatio­n Chairman B Ashok, WBHIDCO Chairman Debasis Sen, IOC Executive Director (RS) Goutam Bose & General Manager of IOCL WBSO Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra briefed about IOCL'S plan for developing & providing host of hi-tech facilities in line with customer expectatio­ns at the upcoming ‘Smart Retail Outlet'.

WBHIDCO Chairman Debasis Sen appreciate­d the quality of service at Indian Oil retail outlet at Saltlake and Indian Oil's plan to set up its first ever outlet in Kolkata.

The outlet will have Green Building with complete solar power backup, there will also be cashless self service fuel dispensers. Apart from petrol, diesel, Auto LPG or CNG, it will have electric charging station for electric cars/buses/ battery operated vehicles. The outlet will have smart LED display boards, LED illuminati­on, air & auto pollution checking facility, solar power plant, rain water harvesting, modern toilets, cash less payment facilities, convenio store, free wi-fi within the retail outlet, CCTV surveillan­ce, fully automated operation, Nitrogen & Air filling facility.

The outlet will have modern automatic safety devices to avoid in fire accident. The outlet will be developed basically with three major concepts – smart constructi­on, smart operation and smart maintenanc­e & housekeepi­ng, Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, GM, WBSO said.
