REMAINING COLOURS

A Group painting and sculpture Exhibition organised to promote artists from different states. All Artists are coming together of many ideas and perspectiv­es; it is a space for interactio­n between Points of view. There is variety of Stylesall those who prefer abstract art don’t have the same abstractne­ss and those who love figurative forms. This diversity is the signature of this show. With propensiti­es unimaginab­le, the event will conclude a special Exhibition of different arts, sculptures and paintings of very well known artists of different states. THE SPLENDOR OF KASHMIR

A four-day exhibition displaying array of the finest hand-crafted Pashmina shawls from the beautiful valley of Kashmir by Ms Varuna Anand – founder and designer, the splendor of Kashmir, in New Delhi and Gurugram. The exhibition will also have a large variety of shawls from solid colours, to borders, reversible’s, basically the entire spectrum of shawls which Kashmir is known for. WHEN: January 5 – January 8 WHERE: The Imperial Hotel, Janpath (New Delhi), Palms Town and Country club (Gurugram)

TRIBUTE TO CLASSICAL POETS AND MUSICIANS

A four-day classical musical festival in the national capital will pay tribute to classical poets and musicians – Swami Haridas and Mian Tansen. the edition of Swami Haridas Tansen Sangeet Nritya Mahotsav, organised by Bhartiya Sangeet Sadan, aims to revive the traditiona­l art forms. With Uma Sharma showcasing her Kathak routines, Ashwini Bhide Deshpande attempting a melange of ragas and Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia playing the harmonic flute, this year’s edition of Swami Haridas Tansen Sangeet Nritya Mahotsav has much to offer. PROMOTING GHAZAL GAYAKI

Charuu Sharma is all set to enthrall music lovers with her Ghazal performanc­e welcoming 2017. She has acquired a unique style of her own, trained by Manek Lal Verma and Indu Prakash Trivedi of Dilli Gharana. She will be accompanie­d by Sitar Recital Veena Chandra (Professor of Indian Music, Skidmore College USA), Violin by Ustad Asghar Hussein (Dilli Gharana) and on Tabla by Sukhmoy Bannerji. The event is presented by Shivaay Entertainm­ent. The idea behind this event is to promote our rich musical heritage and bringing ghazals ‘gayaki’ back in form.
