After Sisodia, office of BJP’S OP Sharma broken into

NEW DELHI: Days after a theft at Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s office in East Delhi, a similar incident played out late Saturday night with Bharatiya Janata Party MLA OP Sharma when burglars broke into his office in East Delhi and debunked with a laptop and a television set.

They also removed the DVRS from the CCTV cameras at Sharma’s office, in the same way it had been done at the Deputy CM’S office.

Sharma said that the laptops contained sensitive data about the Delhi Assembly. The possibility of the same group of criminals being involved in both incidents cannot be ruled out as the modus operandi seems to be similar.

The incident was reported to the police around 8 am on Sunday, when the BJP MLA reached his office near Karkardooma. Sources said the burglars had cut the wire mesh on a metal door outside the office and broke the lock using a crowbar. The miscreants then turned away CCTV cameras focusing on the main office. They ransacked the whole premises, probably to look for computers and the letterheads. The burglars also took away the video recorder attached to the CCTV cameras.

“We have registered a case of burglary, trespassing and criminal conspiracy and are trying to track down the miscreants,” said a police officer.

Police officers said that some materials were left at the reception area of the office. Following the incident, a team from the Anand Vihar police station reached the office. A forensic team also visited the spot to gather evidence, including fingerprints. Police are looking for the video recorder as they suspect that the miscreants might have dumped it somewhere nearby.
