Moreno has alleged that the Macbook contained several sensitive details

NEW DELHI: The Culture Counsellor of the Ambassador of Spain has alleged that her Apple Macbook and Samsung Galaxy tablet which she was carrying with her while she was on her way to Delhi was stolen from IGI Airport.

She has alleged that the Macbook contained several sensitive details related to her country. The police have started investigation but are yet to trace any of her belongings.

The incident took place four days ago when the complainant, Marta Saloman Moreno, had reported that she will be visiting Delhi and was staying for a few days in Kolkata. She had taken a flight to Delhi for some work.

While she reached the IGI Airport, she had tucked away her electronic goods in her attaché case. A senior police official privy to the investigation, said: “The woman has alleged that the Macbook contained confidential data pertaining to the Embassy of Spain.” When she tried to check out, she found that her bag was missing. She initially contacted the airport staff but they were unable to find her bag. The complaint was later forwarded to the Delhi Police.

The police had registered her complaint at Tughlaq Road police station. “The woman had filed her complaint with us. We then got in touch with the Airport security to ascertain the sequence of events. We are also going through the CCTV footages of the area and are investigating the case,” said a senior police official.
